The Property Accountant (Based in Dallas) is responsible for reconciling property cash accounts, monitoring accounts payable and receivable activity at the property level, reconciling supporting schedules to account balances on the financial statements and resolving tie out variances, entering general ledger journal entries, compiling the financial statements for owners, and working closely with the property onsite team members to answer any Accounting-related questions.

Responsibilities:

Complete bank reconciliations and deposit receipts as necessary
Work closely with Property Managers and Regional Managers
Monitor revenue/expense activity and make corrections as necessary
Post journal entries
Tie out account balances to supporting schedules and resolve variances
Prepare monthly financial statements for multiple properties
Address uncashed checks over 90 days for unclaimed property purposes
Prepare/submit draw requests
Enter invoices on a limited basis
Prepare 1099s
Assist in budgeting process
Assist in onboarding/offboarding of new properties/clients
Oversee property taxes for assigned properties
Create year-end financial packages for tax reporting purposes
Fulfill audit requests as necessary
Position Requirements:

Proficiency in the use of 10-key calculator, personal computers, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and accounting software.
Ability to analyze financial statements is absolutely required.
Strong written and oral communication skills in a business environment.
Ability to work well under pressure, with daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly deadlines.
Well-developed organizational skills. Ability to prioritize duties and meet deadlines.
Ability to work successfully as part of a team environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a service-oriented background and mentality
Ability to operate office machinery; including but not limited to: telephone, computer, adding machine, copy machine, fax machine, scanner, printer, etc.
Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
Ability to lift up to 10 pounds on an occasional basis.
Education:

A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or closely related field is a required.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
Two to three years’ experience in property management and accounting is helpful. A general real estate background is helpful. Experience with Yardi software is a plus.
