AESC is seeking an Account Manager who will be responsible for overall ESCO, and aggregator performance in an innovative energy and demand reduction program, including enrolling new aggregators/ESCOs and working with the enrolled partners to ensure their success in developing projects and realizing forecasted total system benefits (TSB) and incentives. The Account Manager will work closely and collaboratively with the Project and Program Managers to ensure the program meets goals and Director for overall strategy/messaging.

This position requires an organized, partnership-driven, and results-oriented person with excellent communication skills who can initiate, build, and maintain strong relationships. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in California energy efficiency programs and demonstrated experience in account management, trade professional management and/or in business development. The ability to understand and communicate complex EE concepts simply and clearly and detail-orientation are key. An understanding of California EE policy landscape is a must. Successful candidate may also have the opportunity to become involved in other programs in a Project/Program Manager capacity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Identify and outreach, or respond, to potential aggregators/ESCOs and recruit them by educating them on the program and the opportunity it presents.
Maintain knowledge on aggregator pipeline, project status, and M&V results.
Maintain familiarity with all enrolled aggregators, their company focus, and the type and quality of work they bring to the program.
Actively identify and implement strategies to increase project uptake and success.
Coordinate with project manager on aggregator project intake and completion status and ensuring tracking systems are up to date.
Work with aggregators, ESCOs and AESC engineers to troubleshoot issues, complex situations, and create improvement plans, all with any eye towards aggregator and program success.
Identify and strategize program design improvements.
Create regular aggregator-related reporting.
Attend client-facing meetings.
Represent aggregator perspective internally and with client, represent program perspective with aggregators.
Use program tools such as Salesforce to track activities and next steps.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS:

At least 5 years of experience in energy efficiency.
Demonstrated account management/trade professional management/business development experience preferred.
Four-year degree or equivalent work experience, bachelor’s degree in energy related field is preferred but not required.
Must be self-directed and have excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Able to establish and maintain a professional rapport with market stakeholders, customers, and trade professionals.
Ability to understand and communicate complex EE concepts simply and clearly.
General knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards in the energy efficiency field.
Ability to work as part of an integrated team.
Ability to excel when there are competing priorities and flexible definitions/requirements.
