Insurance Agent

Claims Administrative Support Specialist

As a claims administrative support specialist, you’ll play a vital role supporting our claims branch offices.  In addition to ensuring essential administrative functions run smoothly, you may also interact with customers and medical providers by phone or in person when applicable.

Call Center Representative

If you enjoy helping others and flourish in a fast-paced environment, you might be a fit for Progressive’s call center team. Taking inbound calls, you’ll support and build trust with our customers by servicing their unique needs while also offering additional products. Successful candidates can multitask, have customer service experience, and can navigate through multiple computer systems. We’ll provide paid training along with continued coaching, so you’ll feel confident serving our customers. This is a remote position.

Job opportunities: 

 

  • Customer Service Representative- support customer inquiries and insurance policy needs by answering questions regarding coverage, rates, billing issues, and general policy reviews while offering additional products
  • Inbound Sales Representative- share expertise of our Progressive products and services to our customers to ensure appropriate insurance coverage through benefits selling (no cold calling!)
  • Claims Customer Service Representative- care for customers recently in accidents by demonstrating empathy while setting up new claim reports; you’ll also offer customers additional products

Auto Damage – Claims Adjuster

As an auto damage claims adjuster, you’ll serve as Progressive’s point of contact with customers – directing and making decisions regarding the repair process from beginning to end. Managing your own inventory while working independently, you’ll work closely with body shops and others to negotiate repair pricing and assess liability. Ideal candidates will possess leadership and conflict management skills, along with strong attention to detail and a passion for providing excellent customer service.

This is a field position with access to a company car and frequent driving within your assigned geographical area. We assess our workload collectively, which means you may cover assignments outside your geographical area. You may also be required to report into an office occasionally.

 

Duties and responsibilities
  • Complete vehicle inspections, write estimates, determine total loss evaluations, and set clear expectations and timelines
  • Negotiate repair process with body shops
  • Document information related to the claim and make decisions consistent with claims standards and local laws
  • Evaluate and handle claim payments and resolution of claims without payments
  • Review and determine validity of any supplement requests
Must-have qualifications 
  • A minimum of four years of relevant work experience with one year appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience
  • {OR} Associate’s degree and a minimum of three years relevant work experience with one year appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience
  • {OR} Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one year appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and compliance with Progressive’s driving standards and/or policies

Compensation 

  • Commensurate with experience, salary range is $77,600 – $88,600/year
  • Gainshare annual cash incentive program up to 16% of your eligible earnings based on company performance

Claims Adjuster – Complex Injury

As a complex bodily injury claims adjuster, you’ll efficiently resolve complex injury claims with accuracy, applying discretion and independent judgment. In this role, you’ll investigate and assess policy coverage and determine Progressive’s liability, losses or damages related to personal auto injury claims without representation.

This is a hybrid role. You’ll be expected to report to an office about four days per month for important meetings, training, and collaboration and will have the benefit of continued coaching from a supportive team. If you prefer an in-office environment, you’re welcome to work in the office more than four days per month.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Evaluates, settles, and issues payments for unrepresented bodily injury claims with a higher level of complexity and/or severity.
  • Investigate and determine insurance policy coverage and the extent of liability concerning loss or damages involving personal auto claims, using discretion and independent judgment.
  • Gathers information on the status and treatment needs of injured person(s), most commonly for soft tissue injuries and mild-to-serious sprain/strain, and minor scarring, fractures, or concussions.
  • Interview, acquire, and collect information from customers, agents, and witnesses. Review police reports, medical information, and other data when appropriate.

Must-have qualifications

  • Four years of relevant work experience with one year in claims handling
  • {OR} Associate’s degree and three years relevant work experience with one year in claims handling
  • {OR} Bachelor’s degree and one year in claims handling

Preferred skills

  • Expertise in handling injury claims
  • Experience handling complex coverage and liability.

Compensation

  • $68,000 – $78,000/year, based on experience and geographical location
  • Gainshare annual cash incentive program up to 16% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
