Description

We are looking for a bright, dynamic Financial Analyst to join the Bay Medical Management team at our corporate office in Walnut Creek, California. This role performs financial analysis for physician group and the management company by collecting, monitoring and studying data. Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Must be a team player with ability to gather, synthesize and report information from various sources. Must be an agile, detail-oriented with strong analytical skills. Minimum of five years of experience in similar role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Support partnership operations with data analysis of their operational/financial performance by preparing and evaluating financial trend and data analysis reports. Assimilate knowledge into projections.

Lead and support business teams in annual operating budget and forecast process.

Supports strategic financial planning by gathering recommendations for financial plans, financial requirements, operating forecasts for multiple entities

Participate in monthly close process (accruals, reviews, journal entries) and review meetings.

Provides assistance to the Financial Planning Manager and members of management in determining the financial viability of proposed projects, capital expenditures and new operations.

Performs financial analysis upon identification of variances and prepares summary of key findings.

Extract, analyze and report data from different systems

Assists with the development of financial reporting packages

Skilled in partnering with all levels of management

Special projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting or related field from four-year college or university; and five or more years related experience including financial analysis, budgeting, reporting and data base development; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Medical group experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, vendors and business partners.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

OTHER SKILLS

Thorough knowledge of general accounting methods, principles and practices.

Knowledge of budgeting, financial analysis and financial projections.

Understanding of health care pricing, reimbursement, and financing preferred.

Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and computerized accounting systems.

Knowledge of Adaptive (Workday) budgeting system is preferred.

Knowledge of Access 2003 is helpful, but not required.

Excellent oral and written communications skills.

Detail oriented.
